Before: The patient was congenitally missing her two lateral teeth in the front. Instead, her canines which support the corners of the mouth, were moved into those lateral positions. This causes a collapse of the upper arch, creating a smaller “cage” for the tongue to reside pushing it backward into the airway. She suffered serious sleep issues due to a narrowed airway and a retruded lower jaw.
Interim: Bone growth done very slowly and carefully with the ALF appliance followed by proper tooth placement orthodontically resulted in enough space to place implants in the previously missing tooth positions.
After: Happy Ever After!

After Invisalign treatment, this patient preferred to have lighter teeth and the sharpness of his canines rounded, but wasn’t sure if that was what he envisioned. Tooth colored material is placed on the right side canine with the left one untouched so he can see the difference between the two. This five-minute procedure gives him a visual of the end product and from there he can decide whether he wants to proceed with permanent bonding.Utilizing an implant, crowns, and bonding restorations for the three front teeth. “Before” illustrates an unwanted space between the front teeth. Porcelain veneers on the two front teeth have beautifully aligned, proportioned, and harmonized the teeth.
